Tour De Freedom
October 29, 2010
Hi Folks
Has been a long 4 days since we left Esperance on Tuesday.
Day 1 we clocked a “sedate 66km” ride around Esperance and then the past three days have been 195k, 235k and 191k respectively. It has been a great challenge but the spirit within the group has helped the majority of riders complete all the kilometres every day and the support crew have done a fantastic job to make everything possible.
Tomorrow we have a 215k day through rolling terrain to Dwellingup and then finish up Sunday lunchtime at Parliament House.
It is a great cause and hopefully the next few days all the riders will complete the journey!
So far plenty of money has been raised, but the more we can get for this great cause the better
Thanks for checking in,
Raf
Win at Margaret River 10k and Tour de Freedom
October 24, 2010
After 6-7 weeks of light work post World’s, I jumped in the Margaret River 10k with other Running Centre and Front Runner crew who headed down to the iconic destination for the weekend.
Very happy that I was able to win the rolling 10k in a course record of 32.04 and we also won the Fastest team category. Special well done to 2 of my athletes Adam Martin and Rachel Smith (who was also celebrating her birthday) who took PB’s on the day, great work!
Next week I will do the Tour De Freedom 1000km charity ride for Teen Challenge drug rehab centre. Rehab and addiction is an issue that cuts close to home for many people, including my family. If you can make a donation to the cause please do so at http://www.everydayhero.com.au/rafael_baugh

DEAL SIGNED TO RIDE MALVERN STAR OPPY C7 IN 2011
October 15, 2010
I am extremely pleased to report that I have signed on with Pacific Brands Australia to ride the Malvern Star Oppy C7 for the 2011 season.
The opportunity to ride for an iconic Australian brand is something I am extremely excited about. I am hopeful that I will have great success on the bike nationally and internationally in the years ahead and assist in bringing visibility and prestige to the brand.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank Mauricio and the team at Pacific Brands for their support and hope the relationship can be one which lasts until the completion of my competitive career.

The distinctive silver bar tape, saddle and tires combined with full Durace and Cosmic Carbone Wheels make it a hot looking machine, while the finishing shape give the machine great aerodynamics and force transmission. Take it for a test ride at a store near you….http://www.malvernstar.com.au/dealers/ and become a fan on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/MalvernStar
Easing back to fitness
October 5, 2010
The back half of this season my motivation evaporated with a number of other things taking priority and shifting focus away from training. The nett result was a disappointing finish to the campaign
It has taken a good 6 weeks but the enthusiasm is slowly returning and I am getting back into training with some routine to make an early start for 2011. Preliminary plan is that I will compete in a few regional events in October and November and then compete in 3-4 track races in Jan-March. Running is my passion and I am excited to see how fast I can run in those races. Thereafter we will head to Spain and this year target the European Champs in Spring. I will then do the winter cross country and road races in Perth and head back to Spain in September for the World Championships.
Good luck to everyone competing at Melbourne Marathon and Champion Lakes this weekend………
