Training week
December 27, 2009
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and enjoyed a relaxing time with family and friends. It is always a busy time coming from a large family and a Baugh Christmas is always a boisterous affair!
On the training front my hamstring still requires a conservative approach as it is not feeling 100% so the running load is going to be light for a while longer so it heals.
This week has looked like this:
Monday: Jog 60 minutes
Tuesday: Bike 2.5 hours (2 hours solid with group ave 37k/hr) Easy 30 min Jog
Wednesday: Jog 70 minutes
Thursday: Jog 40 minutes
Friday: Rest Christmas Day
Saturday: Ride 100k with hills (struggled but hid from the wind all day and got pulled around by Paul and Mick) 30 min Jog
Sunday: Easy Bike 2 hours Easy Jog 30 minutes
Next week will spend 5 days getting some solid bike volume and family time in Quinninup over the New Year Period and should be in good shape by end of Jan
Happy New Year!
Back into the swing (slowly!)

Howdy Folks
Have got back into a little training this week and safe to say inertia is a powerful force. That said, one of the best things about a break is you get to enjoy the experience of “building” and getting positive re-inforcement as you feel the fitness coming back.
Now it is basically 3 months of base work building until the end of March when I should be running 80-100k and riding 300-400k a week. In January, I will look to average 70k Run and 250k on the bike and do a brief training camp in Pemberton for 5 days with lots of riding and in Feb be up around 80k and 300k-350k. In April and May it will be off to Europe for some real action in the Basque Country.
I am really looking forward to being stronger and faster than before in 2010. I hope you are all reaching your goals and working hard and wish you all the best for the festive season.
Thanks for checking in

Rest and Planning 2010
December 4, 2009
Howdy Folks
Rest weeks are great for realising what your missing out on!
The past few weeks have been complete rest from training after discovering that the hamstring injury I carried through the season was a decent Grade 2 tear at the musculotendinous junction. I was blessed it held up through the season despite a few flare ups and now I will give it the well earned rest and rehab to make sure it is back to 100% for 2010.
My season planning is almost complete and the expected schedule is:
Feb Matilda Bay 10k
March 26 ITU Asian Duathlon Championships
April 5 Asics Bridges 10k
April 17 Spanish Duathlon Champs (Gijon, site of 2011 World Champs)
April 24 Gernika International Duathlon
May 1 ITU European Championships (Nancy, France)
May 15 Swiss Duathlon Championships (Zofingen, Switzerland)
May 23 HBF Run for a Reason (TBC)
June/July Races TBC in Perth, Western Australia
August Altitude Training Camp (Davoz, Switzerland)
September 5 ITU World Duathlon Championships (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Running Regards
