Preparation for Powerman Finalised

After consultation with legendary coach and triathlete, Rob Pickard, I have formulated my training plan for Powerman Malaysia and the Thailand International Duathlon. The only disappointing aspect is that there will be no WA Duathlon Championships during the build up. Instead, I will head down to Albany for a training camp culminating in the Albany Tri Club Duathlon on Oct 15.

During the preparation period I will race the run the following events:

  • Sep 24 Run Leg- Anaconda Adventure Race www.anacondaadventurerace.com
  • Oct 15 Albany Club Duathlon 4/27/4 http://albany.org.au/triathlon/news.php - this will be the culmination of a hard 5 day training camp down south
  • Nov 12 Powerman Malaysia www.powerman.com.my
  • Nov 18 Thailand International Duathlon
  • I may also compete at the Dardanup Open Cycle Race (Sep 17), Atta Shenton Park & King’s Park TT (Oct 1 & Nov 5 respectively) and Rottnest Fun Run (Oct 22) depending on my training at the particular point in time.

Plenty of windtrainer work has been included to help prepare for the heat and humidity expected in Asia. With a consistent build up I will continue to build in strength and confidence leading in to these events and expect to be very close to the mark at race end.

Finally, congratulations to my cousin, Katherine Bayly, who will be competing in the World Long Course Champs in Canberra and good luck to everyone else for the upcoming tri season. Should be a ripper!

Ciao
