Solid Training in Build up to European Championships in Edinburgh
This past week 2006 Australian Duathlon Champion
James Attard has come to London to train in the build up to the
next round of the World Series in Edinburgh on June 16 (http://www.edinburghracing.co.uk/).
The course is meant to be very tough and hilly with some steep
gradients on the bike and run and the competition promises to
be of the same high standard as the World Championships. It
has been great to have him here and the training has been great.
This is the first of two hard weeks before
a taper leading into the race and we have logged up 110k of running
(my biggest week ever) and 9-10 hours on the bike with plenty
of quality. I was very happy to win the Bushy Park 5km again
this week in 15.16 http://www.parkrun.com/Default.aspx?tabid=189 and
followed it up immediately with a session of 12*30 second on/off
and felt comfortable throughout. The form is my best ever and
should show race day.
The Initial World Rankings for the season
are still being collated but I think I am currently ranked
6 or 7th for the season after Thailand and Gyor. I can’t
wait for another crack at Edinburgh and the chance to move
further up the rankings.
Cheers
