Training had been going very well for the upcoming season until the weekend. Running around UWA some glass penetrated my running shoe and punctured a narrow but deep hole in my forefoot. This has stopped me running for four days but hopefully it will be right to run in the next few days.
Ever cloud does have a silver lining and the injury has meant that I have commenced a little swimming before the Rottnest relay swim on Feb 17th and the Meelup Triathlon on Feb 24th. I decided the $10 Kmart bathers would be the cost effective choice as I don’t envisage doing too much time in the water, plus $40 seems a lot steeper than I remember for a pair of speedo’s- inflation and profit disguised as cutting edge technology!
Throughout the month I have also had the chance to ride my new CSK time trial frame. It is super stiff and fast and still responsive enough to use on technical or hilly courses with a little less aggressive geometry than many TT bikes. I look forward to trying it out in some upcoming races before transferring back to my CSK Hydroform road bike (see below) for the racing season.
All the best and hope your training/racing is strong
