Best race(s)
Powerman Belgium- Crash (and broken jaw, ribs, radius and ulnar) aside, I believe that in racing thought processes reflect physical fitness and therefore race outcomes. In this race I believed and was racing as if I could beat anyone in the world for the first time. The result sheet shows DNF though due to the crash. That motivates me to get back, train hard and finish off what I have started

Worst race(s)
DSQ at French GP#3 for throwing helmet in transition- cost the team a lot of ranking points and cost me a paycheck…..and four weeks later……..2) Puncture at European Championships when right in the mix.

Biggest Influence(s):
I was very fortunate to receive advice this season from running coach/manager Nic Bideau & Pro cyclist Daniel Lloyd. It reinforced unequivocally that success breeds success and the best people to get advice from are those with a proven track record and formula for success in your chosen pursuit(s).

Best Supporter:
Lianne - it is a lot to ask of an intelligent and independent woman to follow someone else’s dream and I am very lucky that I have such a loving and patient wife.
Special Mention - Luke Wheeler deserves mention for managing to convince his new wife to come over from Viena, Austria to Gyor, Hungary for the World Championships. Better still, Luke used his professional appearance, charm & a seriously big camera to get “access all areas” with ITU media during the event.

Chief Financier!
Not only did Montlucon Triathlon club www.montlucon-triathlon.com help get me into the best races in the world with the French GP circuit, they also went above and beyond in product, accommodation, transport, moral and financial support. Jerome, Yannick, Yohan, Martin, Gael, Seb, Kinou, Annick, Thierry and all the team made France so much more than just a racing experience.  I was very blessed to have been part of such a great team of athletes and people.

Best Training
French Alps. In summer (unless the Tour goes through the town you are in!) it is perfect- dirt cheap, good facilities, beautiful, high altitude and low stress. Training with the boys from Montlucon (plus James Attard, Luke and Shaphan Cox) in Ardeche and Alpe D’Huez was absolutely brilliant.

Big thanks to my wife, all the family, friends and sponsors (Asics, Ryders Eyewear, CSK bikes, Carboshotz, RFID Timing) for their support.

Hope you all had a great 2007 and best of luck for the festive season, thanks for checking in.

All the best
